Child-resistant package testing event to take place at Hands-on House August 12 and 13

On Wednesday, August 12 and Thursday, August 13, Hands-on House will host Bird Dog Marketing Group for a child-resistant package survey event. Children between the ages of 42 and 51 months are invited to take part.  For every participating child, Bird Dog Marketing will give that family $25 and donate $25 to Hands-on House.

For over 50 years, Bird Dog Marketing Group has successfully tested the effectiveness of child-resistant closures following the Consumer Product Safety Commission, EPA, and FDA guidelines in a multitude of settings. During these unprecedented times when day care centers/preschools and large events have been cancelled, Bird Dog Marketing Group has developed a safe alternative that allows critical testing to be completed and benefits local nonprofits.

Registration is required so that participants can be scheduled in pairs. Sign up here.

During the test, the child will be asked to try and open a empty child resistant package. The entire process takes less than 10 minutes and afterwards the testing proctor will stress the importance of the child to never do this at home and if they see an open container to immediately talk to their parent or caregiver.

Tests will take place outdoors under at a tent at Hands-on House and will follow CDC guidelines and precautions.

Adults ages 50-70 are also needed.  Bird Dog Marketing will donate $10 to Hands-on House for every adult participant. Registration not required.
