PACKET PICK-UP: We encourage you to pick up your race packet on Friday, September 27 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Hands-on House. You may also pick up your race packet on Saturday, September 28 (race day) from 6:00 – 7:20 a.m. We have disposable CHIP TIMING for this event from 2L Race Services. When you pick up your race packet, you will receive your disposable chip.
PARKING: Parking is available at Hands-on House. Additional overflow parking is available at Calvary Church (.8 mile east of Hands-on House) with shuttle transportation to the race start provided. On race day, please allow yourself adequate time to park and make your way to pick up your packet (if you haven’t already done so) and the race start.
RACE DAY REGISTRATION: Runners may register the morning of the race from 6:00 – 7:20 a.m. Race day registration is $75 for the half marathon, $50 for the 10K, and $35 for the 5K. All runners and walkers are welcome.
VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN: All volunteers are asked to check in at the registration tent and pick up your volunteer assignment and shirt. All volunteers will be wearing a Hands-on House Volunteer shirt.
CHIP TIMING: The race will be timed by 2L Race Services using a disposable Chip Timing System. Why disposable chips? Utilizing timing chips on your race bib and overhead antennas that read the chip, participants do not need to attach chips on their shoes. Simply wear your bib as instructed, and run through the finish arch. As you cross the finish line, look up at the large screen display with the race clock and your name! There is no need to remove the chip from your bib.
RACE START: Race announcements and instructions will be given at the circle driveway in front of Hands-on House at 7:40 a.m. At the conclusion, half marathon participants will be called to the start line. 10K and 5K participants will line up behind the half marathon. The official race start time is 8:00 a.m. After the half marathon starts, the 10K will start and then the 5K.
SIGNAGE: All race courses will be well-marked with signs. The half marathon course will have mileage markers and the 10K and 5K courses will have kilometer markers. Please take note and support the generous sponsors of our race.
DRINK STATIONS: For the half marathon, drink stations will be close to mileage markers 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11 and 12. Water and diluted energy drink will be available at each station. The cups at the beginning of each station will have water and the cups at the end of the tables will have energy drink. For the 10K, drink stations will be near markers 1, 2, 4 and 5. For the 5K, a drink station will be close to the 3 kilometer marker. Water and diluted energy drink will be available. The cups at the beginning of the table will have water and the cups at the end of the table will have energy drink.
PORTABLE TOILETS: There will be plenty of portable toilets by the registration area and in two different locations located along the course, one on Keens Road, just before John Landis Road, and the second near the intersection of Millport Road and Warwick Road.
POST-RACE: There will be a variety of goodies and drinks available for all runners after the race, including fitness drink, water, fresh fruit, and bagels. These treats will be located at the finish food tent. Medical personnel will be available post-race to take care of minor injuries such as blisters, etc.
AWARDS: Finisher medals will be given to all half marathon runners. Cash awards will be given to the top three male and female half marathon finishers. Awards will be given to the top three males and females in each age group (19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70+) for the half marathon, as well as to the top five males and females for the 5K and 10K races.
HANDS-ON HOUSE HOURS: Hands-on House Children’s Museum will be open on Saturday, September 28 from 8:30 a.m – 5:00 p.m. Children of participating runners will receive free admission to the museum on race day. Free admission coupons will be available at race registration and packet pick-up on both Friday evening 9/27 and Saturday morning 9/28. All other admission is $9.50 per person.
