Hands-on House Children’s Museum of Lancaster is looking for energetic, dedicated teachers for our summer camp. Our camp runs from 9-2 each day and serves children ages 4-10. Our activity zone teachers will be teaching content in one of our four learning zones: art, STEM, adventure, and play.
Art Zone teacher: teaches art techniques and leads activities
STEM Zone teacher: teaches STEM content and leads activities
Adventure Zone teacher: leads movement-based games and learning activities
Play Zone teacher: facilitates free play and leads play-based activities
Qualifications:
- 2+ years documented work with children
- Degree or in the process of obtaining a degree in early childhood education, science education, art education, or related fields
- Preference given to those with experience in one of our zone areas
- 20 years of age or older
- Ability to work outside for 5+ hours, be on your feet for extended periods, and lift 25+ pounds
- Available for at least 7 of 9 weeks of camp (running from June 13 to August 19 with the week of July 4th off)
Responsibilities:
- Teach planned activities to children aged 4-10
- Set up, clean, and maintain zone space
- Facilitate afternoon free-time activities
- Supervise children during transitions, playground time, and lunch
- Opportunity to plan some of the zone activities
- Direct and supervise youth volunteers

- Average workday 8:15-2:30
- Rate: $13-14 an hour
