Welcome to the Clubhouse Art Studio, a place for learning, self-expression and fun! In Art Studio classes, led by our Art Education Coordinator, children will learn a range of art skills and techniques and have the chance to explore a multitude of media including painting, ceramics, printmaking and more. Space is limited. Advance registration is required.
USA Ball drop

In this class we will look at New years in The USA. We will be creating our own ball drop, one of the popular ways to display the new year excitement in NYC.

 Spain New Year Grapes

 In Spain the locals will eat 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight. In honor of their celebration we will be using 12 grapes to make a geometric sculpture.

Brazil White Flowers

 In Brazil they throw white flowers into the ocean as a New Year’s tradition. We will be using black paper and white pastels and paint to make our own white flower creation.

Greek Onions

Greeks believe onions are a symbol of rebirth so they hang them up for the new year. We will be using onion skins to create some interesting artwork!

In Japan bells are round to cleanse the soul. In this class we will be painting on pots and adding a mini bell to make our own bells.

Czeck Republic Apples

In the Czeck they cut apples at midnight to see what their new year will hold. We will be using cut apples to create some fruit prints.

Turkey Salt Sprinkler

 Who knew salt was good luck. In Turkey, it’s sprinkled on the doorstep to bring good luck for the new year. We will use it with our watercolor painting for this class.

One symbol of the New Year that is used in many parts of the world is fireworks. In this class we will be creating our own display of artistic and colorful fireworks.

During Open Art times, children have the chance to explore different art workspaces, from simple planned projects to drawing with pastels or making a beautiful watercolor painting. This is the place for kids to let their imaginations run wild. Want to try a new media? The Emperors Egg
