Hands-on House Closed December 12 through January 3

In accordance with statewide restrictions announced by Governor Wolf Thursday afternoon, Hands-on House will be closed Saturday, December 12 through Sunday, January 3. We anticipate reopening on Monday, January 4. We hope to offer some virtual programming during this closure, including Story Stretchers and Art Classes; more information will follow as details are confirmed.

Upon reopening, an extension equal to the duration of this closure (expected to be three weeks) will be added to all memberships that are active on the day we reopen.  If your membership has expired before our reopening, we will not be able to provide the extension. Membership renewals are available online or by contacting Jim Bland, Executive Director at 717-808-4950 or via email.

As you may know, Hands-on House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and relies on both community contributions and program and admission revenues. During this extended closure in an already challenging year, your financial support is greatly appreciated. If you are able, please consider giving a gift to a loved one — or to our community as a whole — that supports our mission of creating landmark learning experiences for children and their families through play.

  • Gift memberships (on sale now!) and gift admission passes are available for purchase online.
  • Donations to the museum are tax-deductible and can be made online here.
  • Looking to do something really unique to make an impact?  Your family can help to sponsor an exhibit!  Contact Jim Bland (information above) for details.
