Welcome to the Clubhouse Art Studio, a place for learning, self-expression and fun! In Art Studio classes, led by our Art Education Coordinator, children will learn a range of art skills and techniques and have the chance to explore a multitude of media including painting, ceramics, printmaking and more. Space is limited. Advance registration is required.
Clay Cookies

Join us as we celebrate National Cookie Day by making cookie ornaments! We will sculpt our favorite cookies, or perhaps make up a new fantastical kind of cookie. You can look forward to rolling out clay, using cookie cutters and adding fun decorations and texture to your clay cookies.

Winter Landscape

Brrr winter has arrived! In this class we will be learning about cool colors and how they can represent winter time. Students will learn how to paint trees with texture and will create paper hills.

Poinsettia Printmaking

During the holiday season, we often see beautiful poinsettia flowers in hues of red, pink, white and combinations of them. In this lesson, we will do some printmaking and learn about monochromatic color schemes while making a beautiful abstract poinsettia print.

Peppermint Zebras

What do candy canes and zebras have in common? Stripes! In this fun lesson, we will look at zebra stripes and peppermint stripes and we will paint some peppermint zebras together.

Winter Cardinal
Have you ever spotted a red cardinal bird in winter time? Perched on a branch it’s vibrant feathers are a stark contrast to the white of the snow. Today we will create a scene that includes this beautiful red bird.

Holiday Lights

Brighten up your art world with these glowing holiday lights! We will use primary colors on black paper to draw lights that look like they are shining in the night. We will be ready for the longest night of the year when it arrives on December 21st (the Winter Solstice) this year.

Wayne Thiebaud Hot Cocoa Mugs

Artist Wayne Theibaud is well known for his art works with cupcakes, other deserts, and treats as subject matter. We will explore his techniques and style as we create paintings of steaming hot cocoa mugs!

Nutcracker character

Northern Lights

In the dark winter nights in the Arctic region of the world, the Northern Lights can be seen lighting up the sky. In this lesson, we will learn about these lights and recreate them in soft pastels and mixed media on black paper.

Lantern Mixed Media

During the December holiday season, many traditions include candles of some sort: a Yule log, a Hannukah menorah, a Kwanzaa kinara, Christmas luminarias and there are probably even more! In this class, we will make a mixed media lantern artwork that will brighten up your home!

Come join us for STEM Explorers on Thursday mornings! Geared towards kids ages 3-6, STEM Explorers will focus on hands-on learning around subjects like science, technology, engineering, and math. Kids will actively investigate, experiment, and problem solve in this class as they learn STEM Habits of Mind that encourage creativity and discovery. Each class will include learning time, a hands-on activity, and guided play in the Play Lab.
Friction Fun

What is friction, and how does it make things go slower? In this class, you’ll use friction and ramps to complete an engineering challenge.
