Welcome to the Clubhouse Art Studio, a place for learning, self-expression and fun! In Art Studio classes, led by our Art Education Coordinator, children will learn a range of art skills and techniques and have the chance to explore a multitude of media including painting, ceramics, printmaking and more. Space is limited. Advance registration is required.
Paper City

To kick off May art classes we will be starting by learning about an artist named Zaha Hadid who was a well-known architect. We will look at her work and then use it as our inspiration to create our own paper city.

Colorful House

Did you know that an architect most likely designed your house! Well today you get to design your own house from the colors all the way to the shapes and decorations.

Mobile Sculpture

To add to our sculpture projects this month we will check out another sculpture artist named Alexander Calder. Alexander Calder was an American sculptor known for his innovative mobiles which we will discuss in this class as well as create our own version.

Watercolor Painting

Today we will learn about one of my favorite American architects, Frank Gehry. This designer has created some unique and famous buildings in the US.  We will create a watercolor painting design based on his real-life buildings, but ours will have a colorful twist!

3D Sculpture
With this sculpture project we will learn about shapes and explore 3D art. We’ll use our imagination and creative ingenuity to use our shapes in interesting ways and make a truly unique piece.

Pipe Cleaner Sculpture

For this sculpture we will be using pipe cleaners, foam and beads. This sculpture will allow us to incorporate the shapes we see every day into a creative work of art!

During Open Art times, children have the chance to explore different art workspaces, from simple planned projects to drawing with pastels or making a beautiful watercolor painting. This is the place for kids to let their imaginations run wild. Want to try a new media? Miss Gabby will always be in the room to help while showing new, exciting demos on how to make more unique artwork!

Little Cloud

Clouds drift across the bright blue sky- all except one. “Little Cloud” trails behind. He is busy changing shapes to become a zooming airplane, a fluffy sheep, and even a clown with a funny hat. It sure is fun to gaze at the clouds and see pictures in the sky.

Mouse Paint
