Welcome to the Clubhouse Art Studio, a place for learning, self-expression and fun! In Art Studio classes, led by our Art Education Coordinator, children will learn a range of art skills and techniques and have the chance to explore a multitude of media including painting, ceramics, printmaking and more. Space is limited. Advance registration is required.
Oil Pastel Tulips

In this art studio class, we will learn how to draw tulips with oil pastels. Students will look at real tulips during lesson on how we can observe what’s around us and recreate it through our own eyes. 

If the child is between ages 3 and 5, a parent should stay with them for the class. If they are 6 or older, they may be left alone for the class.

Painted and Paper Birdhouse

Home Tweet Home! In this art studio class, we will design, draw and paint birdhouse — and create a paper bird to live in our birdhouse.

Laurel Burch Cats

In this art studio class, we will learn about the artist Laurel Burch and her unique take on cats. Then we will create own own paper collage spring cat and flowers.

Recycled Material Fish

So many fish in the sea… and so many ways to use cardboard!  Cardboard is a great material to recycle into art.  In celebration of Earth Day this week, we will “take a dive” into the deep blue ocean and take a look at some of its vibrant fish. Then we will paint our own tropical fish!

Recycled Robot

We’re wrapping up Earth Week in the clubhouse with one-of-a-kind robots. We will be using a range of recycled materials to build our own “beep boop bop” machine.

Rainy Day Process Art

Rain, rain … stay for the day!  In this art studio class, we will explore using new materials — including cotton balls, buttons and straws — to make  process rainstom artwork.

Watercolor and Ink Spring Flowers

April showers bring (the day before) May flowers! The last art studio project of the month will be a beautiful flower garden. Students will create an abstract watercolor background then use black paint markers to draw their flowers.

During Open Art times, children have the chance to explore different art workspaces, from simple planned projects to drawing with pastels or making a beautiful watercolor painting. This is the place for kids to let their imaginations run wild. Want to try a new media? The Wide-Mouthed Frog

All animals have their favorite foods, and the wide-mouthed frog couldn’t be more curious about what they are. This talkative frog with a huge mouth just can’t stop asking each creature he meets what they like to eat. That is, until he stumbles upon a creature who just loves to eat… wide-mouthed frogs!

Earth Day Birthday

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
