To start off the month we will learn about one of the most important art skills, how to mix your colors! We will be making flower color wheels and mixing from our primary colors and our secondary colors.

It’s fun to build a sandcastle at the beach, but even more fun when friends help. Each helper knew exactly what the castle needed: a moat, a wall, a path, a road. The castle grew higher and more magnificent, and the five new friends were filled with admiration. Come listen to this story a build a sandcastle of your own!

One day, hermit crab grows out of his shell and looks for a new home. But his new home is just too plain, so he invites his undersea friends to help. Starfish agrees to help him decorate, snail helps him clean, sea urchin will protect him, and lantern fish will help with lighting. All is well for a while until… he grows out of this shell too!

Far, far out at sea lives one of the world’s most mysterious creatures, the loggerhead sea turtle. Sea turtles travel thousands of miles each year, often far from land in search of food. Until, one summer night the sea turtle returns to the beach to lay her eggs in a hole in the warm sand- the very same beach where she herself was born. Before summer is over, baby sea turtles hatch and make their way to the sea.
