‘Green’ Phase Reopening Plans

With the announcement that Lancaster County will move to the “green” phase of Pennsylvania’s reopening plan on Friday, June 26, we are preparing to open the doors of Hands-on House once again.  We look forward to welcoming visitors and sharing a number of exciting updates to the Museum undertaken during our closure. However, safety remains our first priority.  We have implemented several health precautions and procedure changes to protect our visitors and staff.

  • All adults, as well as children ages 8 and up, are required to wear face masks while in the building.
  • Hands must be washed upon entry.
  • Temperatures will be taken upon arrival.
  • Admission is restricted to those who pre-registered. No exceptions can be made at this time.
  • Families are asked to maintain 6-foot social distancing from other families.

From Friday, June 26 through Wednesday, July 1, we will be open for members only.  REGISTER HERE

Beginning Thursday, July 2, we will open to the general public. REGISTER HERE

To allow for social distancing, we will be restricting the number of people in the building at a time and limiting the length of visits to 90 minutes. All visitors (members and nonmembers) must pre-register for timed admission.  We will not be able to accept walk-ins.

As we begin modified operations following our extended closure, the continued support of the community is needed and appreciated. Become a member or renew your membership, or make a contribution today — and ensure the future of landmark learning experiences for children and families through play.
